Leaving Wyong Station carpark at 8am on the western side of the station, we ride through Tuggerah, Chittaway Bay, Tumbi Umbi, The Entrance, up through Noraville to Budgewoi and around Budgewoi Lake hugging the lake as much as possible. Coffee stop in Gorokan and follow the water around through Tuggerawong, Tacoma and back to Wyong.
UPDATE: Trains are not running this weekend between Hornsby and Newcastle. https://transportnsw.info/alerts/details#/ems-9331
A fairly flat and scenic ride, mostly on shared paths and quiet streets with a longish stretch on The Central Coast Highway where we have a reasonbly broad shoulder to ride on.
Information for those deciding to use Sydney/Newcatsle Train service, you will have to determine whether the services are running that weekend. A usual Sunday service will see the train leaving Strathfield at 6:01am and arriving in Wyong at 7:42 am.
Besides Wyong and Tuggerah there is no other rail access along the route.
