Anzac Day Dawn Memorial Row

Next Thursday, 25th April, we will be holding our Anzac Memorial Dawn Row to pay tribute to Balmain Rowing Club’s Anzacs. This is an event for all BRC rowers and we encourage our new members to be a part of this special occasion.

Rowers who wish to participate are asked to RSVP to this event via the link asap. 

Everyone who responds will have a seat in a boat, you will be notified of your crew the day before.

Run Sheet for the morning -
* Crews meet at the shed at 5.30am
* It is important that everyone arrives on time and move quickly to get your boat on the water, remembering there are other boats waiting.
* All crews row out to the end of White Horse Point and wait for the other crews to join them. 
* Once all crews have assembled the ode of remembrance will be read, then the laying of eleven floral tributes for the BRC oarsmen who lost their lives. This will be followed by a minute's silence.
* All crews will row together in a memorial flotilla down Iron Cove - assembling in front of UTS.
* On our return all crews will compete in the 500m ‘Dardanelles Dash’.

Back at the shed there will be a BBQ Anzac breakfast for everyone, then we step back in time and read some letters from our soldier oarsman.
