2022 WA U13, U17 AND PARA STATE TEAM INFORMATION
Players nominating for the U13, U17 and Para State Teams must be REGISTERED MEMBERS of Badminton WA
Please read the following information prior to completing the Nomination Form:
- Event & Other Information
- The teams will be playing in the Team Event followed by the Individual Event, respectively.
- The events for the U13, the U17 and Para will be held at Ballarat, Victoria.
- Date of Event: 24th September – 30th September 2022.
- A minimum team of 4 men and 4 women is hoped to be selected to represent WA. (The number of players selected in the team, maximum 5 men and 5 women, is solely at the discretion of the Badminton WA Board of Management and is sometimes determined by player ability or team composition).
- Badminton WA aims to send 2 U13 team and 2 U17 teams (1 main team and 1 development team), and 1 Para team.
- The teams will be supported by a Coach, Manager and Umpire, respectively.
- Badminton WA supports this team by:
- Paying the Team Entry Fee of $690
- Paying the Coach $1,000 for team training sessions prior to the departure of the Team
- Paying an Honorarium of $600 each to the Coach, Manager and Umpire
- Subsidising the airfares for the Coach, Manager & Umpire to the amount of $600 each
- Subsidising the accommodation for the Coach, Manager & Umpire to the amount of $350 each
- Organising and paying for the Selection Trials (court hire and shuttles)
- Appointing Selectors
- Organising Team uniforms – if not sponsored, then paid for by the players. Note - COVID restrictions and late notice of the event proceeding may prevent ability to supply new State Team uniform (TBA)
- Providing supporting documentation for Local Council sporting grants if required
- Nomination & Selection:
- By completing the nomination form and paying the appropriate fee the player is stating that he/she will take his/her place in the team if selected. Withdrawal from the team after nomination or selection may incur a financial penalty.
- No player may take part in any trial sessions unless he or she is a registered member of Badminton WA.
- No player may take part in any trial sessions unless the Nomination Form is fully completed and accompanied by the required nomination fee. This must be done prior to the date of the first session.

For the U13 and U17, nominees are required to participate in the following Tournaments as results from the Tournaments will be considered towards the selection into the State Team. If you are unable to compete in the Tournaments, please inform the WA High Performance Coordinator in the earliest possible time.

For the Para, nominees are required to participate in the following Tournaments as results from the Tournaments will be considered towards the selection into the State Team.
- The Nomination fee is $170. ($50 is a non-refundable administration fee). $120 is refundable within 14 days if not selected. If selected, the $120 will cover the training costs for training sessions or any balance be credited to the player's account.
- The Nomination fee of $170 has to be made through online on the portal link provided.

- Training and trials:
For the U13 and U17 nominees,
- Attendance at trials and training is compulsory regardless of the time or venue. However, you are required to seek exemption to attend the trial with the High Performance Coordinator if are aware that you cannot attend the trial. Failure to do so will result in forfeiting the chance to be selected into the state team.
- Trial times and Venue: 25th & 26th June 2022, Venue: TBA
- Team announced: as soon after nomination close as possible
- Team training: Dates, times and venue to be advised following appointment of the Coach.
- Team training and details TBA by Coach and Manager.
For the Para nominees,
More information with regards to the trials and training session will be provided soon.
$120 of the Nomination fee will go towards Team Training fees for training sessions.
Where fewer training sesions are able to be made due to time restrictions payment requests may be amended by the Manager.
- Payments:
- The payment schedule to cover the cost of airfares, accommodation and other expenses will be provided by the Team Manager but will start with
- $500.00 at the first training session and
- Followed by further payments as determined by the Team Manager

Player Agreement

Once selected in the team each player must sign the player agreement - see attached.

Signing that agreement indicates that both the player and parent/guardian has read all the information in these notes and in the Player Agreement and agrees to the conditions.
