The Board of Badminton WA wishes to survey its potential WA player/representatives as to what are preferred levels of support it can offer for individuals attending either both or one of the Bendigo events, bearing in mind we have a member approved 2021 budget for possible costs here, approved buy our members. Please bear in mind we have yet to see any event by-laws from BA as to how these Bendigo events will be run, conditions they may impose as to eligibility, entries being of good standing etc. We have long argued (quite unsuccessfully, so far, over decades) for equalisation of team costs at national events. We have only just recently received a communication from BA about ‘child safety’ and ‘coach accreditation’ at these Bendigo events, implying that they still consider these events as State/Territory ‘representative team’ managed.

Please be aware that Badminton WA is not going to be bound by any majority view in response to this initial survey (conditions imposed or expectations of us by BA may well mean we have no options in some matters), but we do value your thoughts and views expressed here, if intending to participate.
