The 2025 South West Junior Hockey Carnival will be held over the June long weekend of Saturday 31st May through to Monday 2nd June (WA Day).
Games will be fixtured from 8am on Saturday morning, with the last fixtured game being at 10:40am on Monday morning, followed by finals. All teams must be available to play on the Monday. If you have no intention of playing your Monday fixtured games, please do not register for this carnival. Any Monday morning forfeits may impact future participation in this carnival.
Teams can be entered into the following divisions.
Championship Grade (Competitive)
- Year 5/6 Boys and Year 5/6 Girls
- Year 7/8 Boys and Year 7/8 Girls
- Year 9/10 Boys Year 9/10 and Girls
Carnival Grade
- Year 5/6 Boys and Year 5/6 Girls
- Year 7/8 Boys and Year 7/8 Girls
- Year 9/10 Boys Year 9/10 and Girls
Please note
Clubs cannot enter two teams in the same grade. If you have two teams in the same age group, you must enter one team in the Championship Grade and the other in the Carnival Grade.
Carnival Teams will play their finals on Grass, to allow for an earlier finish on Monday. There will be no finals for Yr 5/6 Carnival teams. Championship Teams will continue to play finals on Turf.
Teams entered in the Carnival Grade may be moved up into the Championship Grade to balance out the number of teams in each division and even out the number of games played for everyone.
Fixture requests will not be considered for social outings or dinners. Grass games will be completed by 4:40pm on Saturday and Sunday, with only a handful of games being played later than this on turf. We will do our best with the fixtures to allow for clubs to only be playing late games on one night out of the two. You will need to plan your social activities around the fixtures.
Team registrations will close at 6:00pm on Friday 9th May to allow for fixtures to be completed. Please begin your own team selection process early, so you can get your registrations in on time.
Team nomination fees are set at $500 per team. This must be paid by Friday 16th May 2025.
Clubs are encouraged to supply their own umpires for as many games as possible. Bunbury may be able to provide umpires for a limited number of games, but this should not be expected.
The 2025 South West Junior Hockey Carnival bylaws and tournament information will be emailed to your club / association shortly. If you do not receive these by mid-April, you can request them by emailing events@bunburyhockey.org.au
