The South West Junior Hockey Championships were first run in 1991 by a handful of Bunbury Volunteers who wanted to utilise the new Sand Turf to promote and develop Junior Hockey.  Starting with only a handful of teams, this event has now grown to one of the biggest carnivals in Australia with over 140 teams travelling to Bunbury to participate in the 3 day event.
