Note: Due to the full moon on 30/12/20 highest tides for Lake Macquarie are late December / early January in the morning.; Lake Macquarie's entrance has keel depth restrictions. We can discuss the itinery outline when we see which boats are coming and reviewing the weekly / daily weather forecasts. Note during the 2 week period at this time of the year you can count on 25kts to 40kt winds for at least some of your coastal legs with associated sea conditions on the open ocean. We typically encounter 4m to 6m seas for at least 2 of our coastal legs each year. The highest seas over the last 5 years we encountered were 8m. Last year the wind was > 25kts every day for 10 days straight. Each coastal leg is typically 6 - 12 hours depending on the leg you are undertaking and wind conditions. There is also about a 25% chance of light winds with seas < 2m
There are opportunities for sheltered anchorages, ocean anchorages, moorings, marina stays, restaurants, BBQs, day trips ashore, movies, beaches / swimming, shopping, and lots of fun sailing.
This trip is a great adventure and is my favourite voyage for the season
