Brush up on your sailing skills before getting back on the water
The countdown is on to a new season of fun on Pittwater. In the lead up to this season's start, ASC is happy to offer you the opportunity to participate in a unique programme; Three 30-minute Zoom tutorials using the 2Sail sailing simulator app to help you prepare for hitting the water. Kingsley Forbes-Smith, the App's creator and a Senior Instructor & Coach, will familiarise you with the App then provide a refresher on how to get better boat speed and how to improve your starts and race tactics.

Each course is run over three sessions:

Session 1: (Monday)
Getting familiar with zoom, the App, fundamentals of improving boat speed ... mainsheet, weight trim, balance, when to heel (or not)

Session 2: (Tuesday)
More boat speed tricks and starting tactics... vang (twist), centreboard, halyard, start line bias

Session 3: (Wednesday)
Race tactics including tide (start line and on course), reading the wind: gusts & windshifts

Which group is best for me?
Junior sailor (4pm)

ideal for budding sailors who know the basics and want to refresh their skills

Centreboard sailor (5pm)
Spiral and Laser sailors with basic racing experience

Yachtie (6pm)
yacht sailors of all levels of experience

How do I sign up?
Simply choose the level that best suits you/your child then sign up here to book your course. You'll receive zoom invites to the sessions. The session is free but the App does need you to start a 14 day free trial (after the 14 days, it is $3/month).

All you need is an iPhone or Android that can support the App. Courses are limited to 10 participants, ensuring you get the tuition you need.

More details on App
The 2Sail sailing simulator has been 20 years in the making and had over 10,000 hours of testing. It's designed to emulate real sailing. All the controls interact with each other to give real visuals that relate directly to your boat (eg telltales, leech ribbons even the wake acts like a real boat).
