Events
The club hosts a number of different events throughout the year, including:
AUTC Pubcrawl
Held annually in April/May, the AUTC Pubcrawl is a historic event in the club calendar as an event that brings members together, develops friendships in the lead-up to winter, and that promotes the club to local businesses around Adelaide.
The event involves members purchasing pubcrawl shirts with a touch-related design (previous themes include: 21 Dump Street, Ruck to the Future, Mick Gray's School of Ruck, and Madonna's Like a Virgin) and 'crawling' from pub to pub across Adelaide.
Being a University club, we traditionally start at the Unibar, before moving on to the East End (Rundle St) pubs, and finishing at the West End (Hindley St). The club also has designated safety officers to ensure that no one is drinking excessively or in harm.
As a University event, the AUSF Code of Conduct is in place and everyone in attendance acknowledges and accepts this. If you have any theme ideas or wish to get involved in the organisation of the event, have a chat with one of our committee members today.
AUTC Quiz Night
Held annually in July/August, this event acts as a fundraising opportunity for the University Nationals participants. Historically held at the Graduates Clubhouse, this event is a great way for members of the club to get their smartest (or funnest) friends together to compete in pub trivia. The club sources local businesses to provide prizes or sponsorship options for the event, and we open the bar in line with the AUSF liquor licensing to raise funds. If you are a local business and would like to get in touch about sponsorships or other support options, contact us here
Waite End of Season (EoS)
At the end of the summer season, AUTC hosts an end-of-season event to celebrate the teams who have played. AUTC team awards are announced at this event. In the past, the club has held a Lawn Bowls event to allow people to celebrate in a relaxed atmosphere, with an open bar and nibbles provided. If you are interested in playing for a university team for Waite, you can find further information here
Winter End of Season (EoS)
At the end of the winter season, AUTC hosts an end-of-season event to celebrate the teams who have played. AUTC team awards are announced at this event. These include the Club Awards. The event is typically a 3-course meal and is more formal than the Waite EoS. The venue changes regularly, with the club having an extended EoS event in 2021 for the club's 40th Anniversary. If you are interested in playing for a university team for Winter, you can find further information here
Other Social Events
The club has hosted other social events in the past including a Karaoke Night, and Team Bonding events (Bowling, Golf, Team Dinners). The club also regularly hosts after training drinks & chat, especially if there is a sporting event on (World Cup Matches, State of Origin etc.).
