2023 Kukkiwon International Courses

Australian Taekwondo is pleased to announce the following Kukkiwon courses will be running in 2023 at Sydney Olympic Park. New Kukkiwon promotion test regulations come into effect July 2023, requiring instructors to hold valid qualifications in both courses to be eligible to recommend students for Kukkiwon certification.

Kukkiwon International Masters Course - February 27 to March 2, 2023
The purpose of this course is to enhance the Master's qualification delivered via the curriculum of Taekwondo worldwide to consolidate the techniques of the Kukkiwon and contribute to expanding global Taekwondo by unifying Taekwondo skills and techniques. This course is a 40-hour program and covers a wide range of topics, comprising four themes: Taekwondo Theories (History, Coaching), Taekwondo Practical training (Poomsae, Gyeorugi), Techniques training (Self-defence) and Special lectures (Taekwondo Grand Master).

Qualification Course (License)
- 1st Class Course: Holder of the Kukkiwon 8th Dan with 2nd class Master Certificate or, holder of the Kukkiwon 9th Dan with Master Certificate (before the issuance of 1996)
- 2nd class Course: Holder of the Kukkiwon 6th Dan with 3rd class Master Certificate
- 3rd class Course: Holder of the Kukkiwon 4th Dan, Age over 18
- Re-examination Course: Disqualified participant who have completed the regular course (1st~3rd class) Class
Diploma Course (Non-license)
- Those who finish the completion course shall be qualified with the Kukkiwon Master Certificate after promoting the Kukkiwon 4th Dan by submitting required document such as additional fee and application to WTA.vHolder of the Kukkiwon 2nd or 3rd Dan, Age over 18
Kukkiwon Poom / Dan Examiners Course - March 3 to 4, 2023
The purpose of this course is to establish standards of the Examiner qualification for the Poom/Dan Promotion Test, to operate the Poom/Dan Promotion test, and to judge fairly and effectively under the rules and regulations of the Promotion Test. This course is a 24 hours program that embraces a wide range of topics, composed of 2 themes Taekwondo Theories (Rules and regulation for Promotion Test) and Practical training (Method of Judging, Poomsae).

- Participants must already have an International Masters Certificate. Or, have attended and passed the International Masters course February 27 to March 2, 2023.

Qualification Course (License)
- 1st Class Course: Holder of Kukkiwon 8th Dan Certificate with 2nd Class Master Certificate or, Holder of Kukkiwon 9th Dan Certificate and Master Certificate (Issue Date prior 1996).
- 2nd class Course: Holder of the Kukkiwon 6th Dan with 3rd class Master Certificate
- 3rd class Course: Holder of the Kukkiwon 4th Dan(at least 21years old) with permanent residence or citizenship in his staying country and 3rd class Master Certificate
Refresher Course
- The holder of Examiner certificate wants to learn new updated techniques and Regulation of Promotion Test again
Key details
- Location: The course will be held at Netball Central, Sydney Olympic Park. Sydney Olympic Park is a 30 minute drive from Sydney airport and is also accessible via train direct from the airport.
- Accommodation: A group booking has been made at a discounted rate at the Quest Hotel, Sydney Olympic Park. AUSTKD will manage all arrangements with the Hotel. Participants may elect to organise their own accommodation if preferred. Upon registration, you will advise if you would like accommodation at the Quest Hotel. Rooming options include two single beds to a room or sharing a double bed with someone in one room. All rates are per person and apply to one person in their own single bed (two single beds to a room) or to each person sharing a bed. Members will have the option to submit rooming requests upon registration. The following accommodation dates are included through AUSTKD. Any accommodation require either side of these dates will need to be organised by the individual directly.

- Catering: Each day, there will be coffee/refreshments provided upon arrival, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. There is also a wide range of food options across Sydney Olympic Park.
Registration & Payment
- Each course will be capped.
- Registrations will close midnight November 8th - AEDT (unless the course is sold out earlier)
- To secure your place, an initial non-refundable deposit of $600 AUD is required upon registration for each course (excluding transaction fees)
- The final payment will then be due by the end of January 2023, which will include the outstanding amount for the participates specific package inclusions.
