Preparations are getting serious for the 11 Australian teams taking part in the Worlds in Costa Brava, Spain.
Six teams have boats in a container taking the scenic route to Barcelona, but still on track to land in time, with near daily updates from nervous teams watching its progress across the seas.
There are 130+ teams from 21 nations and 5 continents registered to compete at the event, making it the largest since the pandemic. Competitors have already been informed that the fleet will be split into Gold and Silver categories, making the first 2 days of racing crucial.
A strong Aussie cohort in heading over the Spain including:
-
2024 National Champions Archie and Beau looking to take their winning form onto the international stage,
-
past National champs and Worrel 1000 winners Brett and Max looking to continue their winning ways
-
Australia’s top 2024 Mixed Team, James and Emily (JAMEM) will be mixing it up looking for glory
-
2024 National 3rd placed team Eli and Kris, with Eli hoping that Kris keeps both feet on the boat at the top mark.
-
A swag of keen as Aussie teams, out to make a name for themselves or give it one hell of a shot. (and there’s always the bar)
