Jervoise Bay Sailing Club to host the
2026 F18 Worlds
We’re thrilled to announce that the votes are in, and Australia is officially the venue for the 2026 F18 World Regatta.
This milestone is a testament to the dedication and hard work of a handful of members who crafted the bids. Below, we highlight the path taken and key contributors whose efforts deserve our collective gratitude for bringing this event to our shores.
Since the AUSF18 AGM at the beginning of the year work has been underway with all the State Reps to develop bids for Australia to host the F18 Worlds in 2026. A big thank you to the State Reps for canvassing clubs across the nation to host the event. Special recognition and appreciation goes to Jeremy Brookes and Jeanette Kinsey (standing in for Annika in WA) for working with clubs in Vic and WA to develop proposals to a stage that could meet the detailed criteria set by the IF18CA.
In mid-June the AUSF18CA committee unanimously voted the Jervoise Bay Sailing Club (WA) proposal as our preferred bid to present to the World Council during the F18 Worlds in Spain. On Saturday 29th June, Eli and Mark presented the proposal while in Spain and received the endorsement of the Council to proceed through to a formal vote of all National Class Associations (not all NCA’s presidents were present at the regatta).
The voting concluded swiftly after the regatta, with all responding NCAs endorsing Australia, thereby securing enough votes to host the 2026 F18 World Championship. This will be announced formally by the IF18CA after August 6th when voting officially closes, however we wanted to share the news with the Aussie community a little earlier!
We’d like to recognise the tenacity and determination of Jeanette Kinsey, for working with numerous clubs across WA to develop high-quality proposals. If you see her and “Hot Fuzz” around the clubs, please be sure to buy her a drink as she has been a force of nature in driving this to a successful outcome.
We are stoked to be hosting the regatta in Australia and are already underway working with J-Bay on planning for the event.

Looking forward to this!
