Expression of interest form for a 4 day hike around/in Alligator Gorge and Mount Remarkable! MAX 15 PEOPLE

Join me (and others, hopefully), and relax on your mid-semester break with a lovely four-day multi-pack hike in Mount Remarkable. The trail is an estimated 70km, and the hike is located 4 hours drive away from Adelaide. We will be carpooling to the site.

We will be following this trail - https://weareexplorers.co/mount-remarkable-multi-day-hike/

We will be doing this hike during the mid-semester break; however, once I've got a clearer idea of the numbers/attendees, we will confirm dates in a private chat, as we will pick the dates that best suit the most amount of people. The hike will go ahead either the first or second week of mid-semester.

This is an intermediate/mediumly challenging hike, and is somewhat open to newbies to the club! However, before signing up, please consider if you have the requisite fitness and gear to complete this hike - ideally, you would have done/completed a multi or day-long walk with the club before. Multi-day walking is not for the faint of heart - an appropriate level of fitness means more than just 'going for a walk every now and then', I'm talking more about you go to the gym/engage in some sort of recreational sport or physical activity/have previous experience camping and walking etc. I don't say this discourage anyone from signing up; rather, I would hate for people to sign up, and then not enjoy the experience due to being in too much discomfort or pain, or even worse, getting stuck on the trail due to being unable to continue.

To come on this hike, I would require/expect people to have appropriate gear. The club can loan out tents etc, but please only join the hike if you have/can acquire before the trip -

  • A pair of hiking boots. NOT SANDSHOES!
  • A good pair of hiking socks.
  • Appropriate walking clothing (e.g walking shorts/pants, top, hat, etc).
  • The ability to buy/get your hiking food (4 days worth, meaning  3x breakfast, 4x lunch, 3x dinner).

You will also need to bring (equipment in bold can be loaned/borrowed from the club)

  • Tent.
  • Sleeping mat.
  • Sleeping bag.
  • Hiking pack.
  • Cooking equipment (stove + matches + stove fuel).
  • Food (as mentioned above).
  • Means of carrying 3-5L of water (+ filtering equipment if you so desire).
  • Warm layers for the night (e.g thermal top and pants).
  • Camp thongs/camp shoes.
  • Sunscreen.
  • Toiletries (e.g. hairbrush, toilet paper, baby wipes).
  • Headtorch.
  • Entertainment.

With all that said, please feel free to sign up, and contact me on Facebook Messenger (Ella Briggs) if you have questions (my profile pic is of girl with a yellow beanie), or if it's desperate, message me on 0411400977.
