Sea to Summit Day Hike

Join us for an 8 hour, all day, intermediate hike!
The Sea to Summit Track stretches from Kingston Park Beach to the Mt Lofty Summit. For this hike, we will start at the top of the mountain and journey to the sea. This hike takes an estimated 8 hours, and is classified as 'challenging', so please keep that in mind before applying/joining; previous hiking experience is ideal, or a good baseline fitness level.
Transport to and from the mountain would be achieved by car shuffle, and arranged in a group chat.
I have listed two dates; the 11th of Feb, and the 18th of Feb; we will hike on whatever day is coolest/most ideal (anything hotter then 30+ degrees is not great!). Whether the hike will go ahead will be confirmed closer to when these dates approach.
The plan for the day is to arrive at the summit at 9:00am at the latest and begin hiking. We will then hike until 12:30ish and break for lunch, then resume hiking until we hit the beach. After, we will grab fish and chips for dinner and swim (this part is not compulsory!). Potential for coffee breaks and such along the hike.
Please bring/wear -
- Walking/hiking shoes or boots (ideally not sandshoes) and wear a good pair of socks.
- Lightweight hiking clothes (ideally something that covers your shoulders so we don't burn to a crisp)
- Sunscreen and hat!!!!
- A sturdy hiking backpack.
- In it pack: 2-4L of water, sunscreen, sunnies, bathers (if swimming!), cash, phone, change of clothes if swimming, beach towel, lunch (e.g sandwich), snacks for the trail (e.g trail mix, muesli bars, fruit).
