Mt Gambier and Ewens ponds snorkeling waitlist
Event information
Join us for a camping trip to the south east of the state. We'll be seeing the best of Mt Gambier and the limestone coast.
Ewens Ponds are known for their crystal clear spring fed water and unique aquatic life, and make a great snorkeling experience. As the water is very cold, you'll need to bring a wetsuit or borrow one from the club, as well as snorkeling gear.
An unusual feature of Mt Gambier is all the surrounding sinkholes, including the nearby lakes and sinkhole in the centre of town. We'll visit some of these.
On Friday, we'll meet on the Kintore Ave side of the Hartley building at uni to sort out wetsuits and camping gear and head down to Joe's family's block of native scrub near Padthaway to camp.
On Saturday, we'll head to Mt Gambier, do some snorkeling at Ewens Ponds, visit Blue Lake and the Mt Gambier sinkholes and camp at Mt Gambier.
Then on Sunday we'll go to Little Blue Lake for a swim and head back to Adelaide.
