BEGINNER CAMP - ALL MEMBERS WELCOME!

Signup closes on Friday night so register quickly!

Those using Club kayaks will have to pay a $10 hire fee. Instructions on how to pay will be provided if you indicate you need to borrow a kayak.

Join us for a taste of Murray River camping and kayaking in the spectacular Big Bend.

Kayaking

We're running a beginner skills session on Saturday, and on Sunday we're kayaking upriver to the extensive Punyelroo Cave.

Stargazing

A near full moon will light the sky in the evening. One of our members is bringing a telescope, allowing you to see it up close.

Camping

Our overnight campsite is free and without facilities, so bring toilet paper and maybe a small shovel!

As a member of the Mountain Club, you can hire gear for free on this trip. So don’t worry if you don’t have a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, stove, kayak, or life jacket (though if you do bring those things you're amazing).

Getting there

We are carpooling to Onkaparinga from the University. Meet at the lawn in front of the Unibar at 10am on Saturday so we can organise club gear and carpooling, with a focus of reaching the campsite around 12PM. If trip numbers are small, we may not meet there and instead organise alternate ways of picking up gear.
