Pioneer Women's Trail intermediate hike
Details
Event information
Hello AUMCers!
We're doing a 24 kilometre full-day hike on the Pioneer Women's Trail on Sunday 19 March. The pioneer women and children who took this path to bring their goods to market started their hike at midnight! We'll start at the more reasonable time of 8:30 AM at Stop F1 Grenfell Street, to catch the 8:40 bus to Hahndorf and walk from there back to Beaumont, catching the bus back from there to the city in the evening. We'll have lunch in Crafers or Stirling on the way but it's still best to bring extra snacks to keep your energy up.
This is an intermediate hike as it's 24km long and has some hills - although it's mostly downhill. Reasonable fitness and previous hiking experience would be good things to have but aren't strict prerequisites, and you can join the hike for as long as you want to.
Bring:
- Hat
- Sunscreen
- Water (1-2L recommended)
- Snacks
- Rain jacket as we got cursed with rain last time I organised a hike
