We're running a beginner overnight hike in the Coorong! This trip is suitable for people with no overnight hiking experience, however, a moderate level of fitness is required because there are some steep inclines and irregular surfaces, and because we will be carrying all of our gear for a total distance of 25 km. Please note, also, that it is unlikely that we will be camping at a location with amenities such as a toilet.

Trip fee: $15 (to cover camping fees). Shared petrol costs additional.

Gear required: Hiking tent, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, hiking pack, hiking stove. Any gear you do not own can be borrowed from the club.

Itinerary:

Saturday 17th September: Meet outside UniBar at 9 am to collect gear. Once everyone has arrived, we'll drive down to Salt Creek (just over 2 hours-ish), where we will quickly car shuffle and then begin the hike. We will hike approximately 12.5 km before setting up camp.

Sunday 18 September: Hike approximately 12.5 km to 42 Mile Crossing, where we will retrieve dropped car(s) and drive back to Adelaide, arriving before 6pm.
