EXPRESSION OF INTEREST Glenelg River Multiday Kayak

We're running an intermediate multi-day kayaking trip on the Glenelg river on Easter (15-18 April). Plan is to leave Adelaide on the Friday morning, and kayak Saturday, Sunday, Monday and return home on the Monday evening. Due to limited site availability, the trip is limited to 8 people.

 

Entry to the trip will be first-come-first-served but with consideration of previous kayaking experience. You will be contacted by the club via email if you have secured a place on the trip.

 

Trip Cost: $20 plus vehicle fuel costs (potentially $80+)

Required Experience: Must have completed basic skills and one other trip with AUMC, must be proficient at paddling long distances (~20 km/day).

Gear required: Tent, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, hiking stove. Any gear you do not own can be borrowed from the club.

 

Itinerary:

Friday 15 April: Meet at boatshed at 9:30am, load trailer. Drive 5.5-6.5 hours to Moleside canoe camping area and unpack kayaks. Drop trailer to Nelson (hour round trip). Stay at Moleside this night and prep kayaks etc. 

Saturday 16 April: Moleside to Georges Rest (19 km approx.).

Sunday 17 April: Georges Rest to Lasletts (18 km approx.).

Monday 18 April: Lasletts to Donovans (9 km approx.). Retrieve cars left at Moleside (hour round trip) whilst packing up and loading kayaks at Nelson. Return to Adelaide (5-6 hours drive).
