Coorong weekend paddle replaced by Murray paddle
Event information
We will paddle from Mundo channel on HIndmarsh Island across to Godfrey's Landing and camp overnight in tents, returning the next day, via the Murray Mouth if there is time.
If you have done a day trip with AUMC, and have overnight camping experience, you are welcome to come on this trip.
You need to wear suitable clothing including bathers, shorts or leggings, boatshoes or sneakers which can get wet (not thongs, sandals or crocs), a rashie or long sleeved synthetic shirt and hat.
Bring a towel and change of clothes, waterbottle, lunch and snacks. Sunglasses on a leash are useful. Also bring a fleece, beanie, and a light windproof jacket, food, spare clothes and camping gear. AUMC will supply kayaks, paddles, lifejackets and spraydecks, also some drybags. The trip leader will send more details regarding camping arrangements and gear closer to the date. You need to be able to carry food, sleeping bag and all camp gear waterproofed in your kayak.
Meet at the Uni boatshed Foreman St West Beach at 9am. We will share transport. It is expected that you will start and finish at the Boatshed, and help wash the boats and gear after use.
If you do not drive, you can catch a bus (J1) from the city. Get off at Tapleys Hill Rd Stop 13 and walk across to the Boatsheds (next to AU Hockey ground). One of us will give you a lift back to the city afterwards
