Flinders Ranges Experience
Gliding in the Flinders Ranges - 21st - 29th September 2024
Welcome to our invitation to experience gliding amidst the stunning landscapes of the Flinders Ranges! Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or completely new to gliding, join us for an Air Experience Flight unlike any other. You'll soar with a skilled instructor in a modern two-seat sailplane, enjoying breathtaking views and the purest form of silent flight.
What to Expect
Every year, our club ventures to the Flinders Ranges for an exhilarating camp where we glide alongside and above the mountains. Using ridge soaring, we harness upward winds to glide gracefully, offering spectacular flights. Typically exclusive to club members, this year, we extend this opportunity to you. Discover the serenity of gliding, where the absence of engines allows you to experience near-total silence, much like an eagle in flight.
Flight Packages
- Students: $200
- Non-Students: $300
This includes:
- Up to 30 minutes in the air with an instructor, experiencing either low-level flights near the mountains or high-altitude perspectives.
- Learn basic glider controls or capture stunning photos/videos.
- Aerobatics upon request, including loops!
Flight conditions permitting; we guarantee a memorable experience as long as weather conditions allow.
First-Time Glider? No Problem!
Never flown a glider before? No worries! Your instructor will guide you through everything, ensuring your comfort and safety before takeoff. Gliding is incredibly peaceful—whether you prefer enjoying the scenery or taking the controls for a hands-on experience, the choice is yours. You'll sit in the front seat with access to controls linked to those of your instructor in the back.
