Event information
Please note that only University of Adelaide students can book via this link. All other potential attendees please contact us at 0450 958 872.
Come and fly a glider with our highly experienced Instructors!
An Air Experience Flight is the perfect way to try Gliding, and afterwards you can continue learning at our Student Rates (which are amongst the cheapest in the country!)
You will get:
- A briefing from an instructor about Gliding, and how to operate the aircraft.
- An Aerotow to 3000ft
- Up to 20 minutes in the air (or longer, for $2 per minute extra)
- Opportunity during your flight (if you wish) to fly the aircraft yourself (under supervision)
- For thrill seekers, ask your instructor for some exciting aerobatics!
- The ability to take amazing photos and video, and GoPro footage supplied to all who want it!
- A debrief after your flight, and further subsequent flights if you wish for a small additional fee.
Bookings essential.
An Air Experience Flight is a chance to try out gliding for a day - in an all-inclusive package price, to see if it is something you want to pursue before signing up for a full 12 months, and beginning training!. If you are keen to get stuck straight into your training (and want to skip the Air Experience Flight) have a chat to us - you will need a Gliding Australia membership to do this (the Air Experience Flight includes a temporary membership).
Carpooling:
Carpooling may be available. Please contact us at 0450 958 872 to enquire. If you have spare seats in your car, please let us know and we will organise a ride for those who need it.
Driving Yourself:
Please arrive at the airfield at 10AM for an introductory and safety briefing. It is located at 602 Stonefield Rd, Steinfeld 5356. Getting there takes just over an hour from town (via the Northern Expressway). It is on a dirt road (on the left), just past the town of Truro. It is recommended to use GPS, as the road is quite easy to miss. Follow this road past the houses and church, and you should see the airfield. The entrance is marked with a large overhead 'gliding club' sign.
