Adelaide University Athletics Club

AUAC middle/long distance group

AUAC is home to established, developing and future distance runners of South Australia.

Tuesday and Friday evenings (and/or intermittent Saturday mornings), athletes from Adelaide Milers Crew along with AUAC members complete workouts relative to their seasonal race goals/ambitions. These races include the local events hosted by Athletics SA, SARRC, Trail Running SA and other organisations. Most athletes who participate in these sessions have a weekly schedule and understanding of their training demands (online coaching diary set up by the coach).

Tuesday and Friday evening workouts are normally held from the grad clubhouse, and the uni loop and grass track on park 10. 5:30 pm runners will complete a 10-20min jog warm up, around 10 mins of drills and various warm-up exercises. The main workout will go for 20-60 minutes (5 - 16km of dose) depending on the individual's race goals. Then finally 10-15 min slow cool down post-workout.

On intermittent Fridays, AUAC will use facilities at Waite institute for hilly, and/or threshold workouts, while some Fridays will be changed to Belair National park on Saturday morning for variety in training stimulus.
