Event information
We're so excited for our 2024 Bronze Camp. With summer fast approaching, it is important to note that this year's camp will be held from the 14th-17th of December and will be a residential camp, with candidates staying at Camp Wilkin and attending the Bronze Course at the Anglesea Surf Lifesaving Club each day. More information will be provided as we approach the dates however for now please feel free to contact James Betson (memberdevelopment@angleseaslsc.org.au) or Max Mauderer (clubcaptain@angleseaslsc.org.au) with any questions regarding the camp!
Please note: This Bronze Camp has a limit on participant numbers. Participants will be reviewed and approved on a first in basis.
The Bronze Medallion course provides participants with the skills and knowledge of patrolling and surf awareness in order to be able to participate in lifesaving operations. This is the core award to be a surf lifesaver in Australia.
A typical day involves:
- Theory classes on the beach and in the classroom
- Water rescue classes, surf skills sessions & patrol scenarios on the beach
- Physical training
The instructors are all highly qualified surf lifesavers and we also provide pastoral care and medical support from trained professionals. All meals are provided by Camp Wilkin for the duration of the course.

Note for Parents: In 2024 we will be needing the parents of candidates to support the Bronze Course by providing supervisory and logistical support. Much like the other facets of the Club this will be a shared responsibility that should provide for a safe and successful course. More information about this will be shared with families once candidate numbers are confirmed.
Please note: Pin Payment (secure online merchant) will charge a credit card/debit card transaction fee of 2%, in addition to the Camp Registration cost.
