Artistic Swimming Australia (ASA) High-Performance Pathway Model is based on the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) FTEM athlete development model, which is split across:
ASA has added a 5th category around Retention. This creates an FTEMR model to provide a loop back into other sports pathways where continual linear improvement is possible. These retention pathways include fun social club-based participation, University competitions, coaching, judging, and general administration. The FTEMR model can be used as guidance by all stakeholders in the sport to manage their own development pathway through the sport. It can be particularly useful for parents with children new to the sport and help navigate sporting terminology and landscape and outline the various pathways available within the sport. |
