Richard Vaughan Performance  Director

Richard is the operational lead at ASA.

Richard has a wealth of high-performance experience as a former Olympian and World No6 Badminton player. In addition, he has over ten years of senior management experience as Chief Executive Officer of National Sports Federations and has been involved in leading teams at the Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games, where his teams have topped the medal tables in their respective sport.
Richard has an MA in Coach Education, MBA, GAICD and is completing a Ph.D. in Sports Integrity.

Paula Klamburg Roque

Team Australia 

Head Coach

Paula won an Olympic medal at the London 2012 Olympics and nine world championship medals during her career as an Artistic Swimmer.

She then coached the Junior national team of Spain for seven years, winning medals in solo, duo, and Team at many competitions. In addition, Paula choreographed and coached countries like Mexico and Colombia and made routines for the Tokyo Olympics.

Paula took on the Head Coach role for Australia in 2022 and is preparing Team Australia for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Vicki Nagyova

National Performance Pathway Coordinator*

Vicki's role is to strengthen artistic swimming pathways through improved skill acquisition, talent identification initiatives, and the coordination, delivery, and support of athlete and coach development programs and projects.

Vicki has been involved with Artistic Swimming Australia in various roles for the last six years and is a keen Artistic Swimmer.

Vicki has a master's degree in Sports Science and a Diploma in Sports Management.

Krisztina Szedlak National Pathway Coach

Krisztina started with artistic swimming at the age of six in Hungary. She relocated to Australia in 2017 and is an active member of the local and national Australian Artistic Swimming community. She has many years of experience working as a club head coach and team leader in Europe and in Australia. Additional to her club coach experience, she has 10 years of experience as a national coach in Hungary's, Australia's, and Switzerland's National teams. Between 2019 and 2021. She has been the head coach of the Australian Junior National Team. This year, She has been the Head coach of the Australian Senior and Youth team and led the teams at the 19th FINA World Championship – Budapest 2022, and the 2nd FINA Youth World Championship 2022 – Charlotte, USA. She is very excited about starting work in her new role as the National Pathway Coach and helping to develop the sport in Australia.

Ana Mendigutxia

National Pathway Coach *

Ana has been an artistic swimming coach for more than ten years. She has worked as a Technical Director and Head coach in different Clubs in Spain and has extensive experience training grassroots sports leading them to high-performance training environments. She considers artistic swimming as a tool for personal growth and knowledge, encouraging athletes to set and work under goals by instilling the values of discipline, consistent work, and passion for this sport.

Ana is certified as a Performance Development Coach (FINA Level 3).

Emanuelle Mah

National Pathway Coach  *

Emanuelle has been an artistic swimmer since the age of 6.
She represented Malaysia on the national team as an athlete and has competed at the World Championships and World Junior Championships.
Emanuelle retired in 2013 as a professional athlete. Since her retirement, Emanuelle has continued her involvement in artistic swimming in various roles, such as team coach, team manager, and judge.
Since moving to Australia in 2018, Emanuelle has been coaching the Sydney Emeralds team and taking up the head coach for the Sydney Emeralds team shortly.
Emanuelle has a passion for bringing teams together, building on their knowledge base, facilitating the athletes' mental, physical and technical skills, and creating a professional and fun environment during training, with a goal of enriching the experience of the team.

Rebecca Maher National Pathway Coach *

Over the past fourteen years, Rebecca has fallen in love with the strength, athleticism, grace, and beauty of our sport, and she is excited at the prospect of being able to share that with our ever-growing next generation of athletes. 

She has an experience as an athlete, and she is currently nearing the completion of a Bachelor of Counselling which has given her transferable skills for this position, including the ability to build a strong working alliance with athletes, made possible due to well-developed interpersonal skills including empathy and positivity.

Alexandra Del Sorbo National Pathway Coach* Alex has 12 years of experience in coaching athletes at a professional level as an artistic swimming head coach and as a judge. In addition, she has a degree in theatre, cinema, and music history, where I graduated with a thesis referenced "Methodology of expressive and spectacular aspects in artistic swimming." She has primarily specialized in developing clubs from the beginning, and I was the head coach of four different clubs in Italy. Italian is her mother language. However, she is also fluent in English and speak French and Spanish at an intermediate level.
