History

Albion Park Women's Hockey Club was formed in 1947 with 15 playing members, from a loan of twenty pond from the football club, which sticks and balls were purchased. The football club allowed the club to play on the showground field, where the girls had to mark the fields and move the goals into position every match. The team would travel to and from games on the back of Bob Ray's coal truck. In the first year in the Shoalhaven Association the team was defeated in the final.
