Welcome to Australian National University Swimming & Water Polo Club! Otherwise known as the ANU Owls! We aim to make swimming and water polo accessible to students, staff and alumni as well as the broader community by making our club affordable, convenient, relaxed and social. We aim to provide people of all ages a safe, fun and positive environment to participate in swimming and water polo trainings and competitions.
The club offers training for both swimming and water polo as well as access to competition. Have a read through the competitions and training times tabs to discover more about what is offered!
We encourage everyone to come and give water polo a go! Whether you have never played before, haven’t played since high school or have been playing for over 10 years. We accommodate all skill levels with our training sessions focused on developing the core building blocks of Water Polo including fitness, technique, and ball skills progressing to more advanced skills as you improve! Enjoyment is the most important thing at the Owls! Our swimming training is undertaken at Club Lime ANU Campus in Acton, and our Water Polo takes place at the Canberra International Sports and Aquatic Centre (CISAC) in Belconnen.
Making Water Polo as accessible as possible is one of our primary goals at the Owls given our strong number of university student membership base. Thanks to our strong and ongoing association with ANU Sport and partnership agreements with companies such as KAP7/Turbo we can offer competitive membership prices which give our members the most bang for their buck as possible.
The social aspect of our club is something which we are extremely proud of. Post training dinners, coast trips, ocean swims, BBQ’s and celebration evenings are a constant and help create a close and supportive community.
