2024 National Judo Kata Championships

The 2024 Australian Kodokan Judo Association (AKJA) National Judo Kata Championships will be held on Friday 4th October at Springers Leisure Centre, 400 Cheltenham Road, Keysborough, Victoria.  This event is being hosted jointly by the Victoria Amateur Judo Union and the Australian Kodokan Judo Association.
 

National Kata Tournament

A Kata competitor competing in one Kata cannot compete in the same Kata with a different partner.  If one kata participant is of 'senior age' (over 16yrs) and the 2nd participant is 15yrs or younger, then the entry will be a senior entry.  Kata pairs can be same sex or mixed.

 

The Kata tournament is expected to commence at 4.00pm. Players are required to present at the control table 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the Kata Tournament (3.30pm). There will be a 30 minute warm up period prior to the commencement of the Kata Tournament. Medal ceremony for the Kata Tournament will take place at the conclusion of the event.

U13yrs

U16yrs

Senior (16yrs +)

2 Kata $90.00

3 Kata $120.00

 

Nage No Kata

Katame No Kata

Kime No Kata

 

Registration for the kata tournament is by separate electronic entry via the AKJA revolutionise sport website. Kata entries with the appropriate fees must be lodged at the time of registration.

 

 

Medals will be presented at the completion of the tournament.

 

Successful katas demonstrated at the AKJA National Championships can be used towards future gradings and taken into account for grading purposes.
