Types of members
Associate Membership is entry level membership. Associate members can vote for members of the AJL Executive Committee and any other votes as determined by the AJL Exec.
Application for Ordinary Membership is available for Associate members who have been members for at least 12 consecutive months and are active in the community. A sponsor is required to upgrade your membership. Ordinary members can stand for positions on the Executive Committee (and therefore must be at least 18 years of age or older) and vote on rule changes.
Seasonal Membership is a a form of Associate membership for people interested in being a member for a shorter period and at a lesser price (for example, in order to take part in a nationally organised tournament).
Where does my membership fee go?
Running and maintaining Australia Jugger League is not free and your funds help the league in a variety of ways.
Approximately 50% of your membership goes directly to your local club. Membership fees help cover the costs associated with hosting weekly games and training sessions, and maintaining the equipment available for use by attendees. In addition, funds are used for things like equipment repair, events, tournaments, safety items, and other benefits for club members.
The remaining 50% goes to the national league, and is spent on Public Liability Insurance, website fees, annual incorporation fees, as well as funding major national events such as the Australian Jugger Open, Down Under International, and supporting international touring teams.
How long does membership last?
Associate and Ordinary memberships last for 12 months from the date of purchase. Seasonal memberships last 3 months from the date of purchase.
