Event information

This event has passed.

Further information on events, rules and entries will follow in the coming weeks, however the basics remain the same as last year - that is, the tournament is open to all AHA members from yellow belt up to and including 3rd dan black belt. There are four events open to belt levels as shown below:

  • Falling (long cat rolls) – open to green belts up to and including 3rd dan only

  • Self-defence routines – open to yellow belts up to and including 3rd dan - teams to consist of either 2 or 3 persons ONLY

  • Sparring – open to yellow belts up to and including 3rd dan

  • Patterns and Self-defence drills – open to yellow belts up to and including 3rd dan - remember, competitors do the pattern or drill they used for their most recent grading - e.g. green belts will ALL do the green tip drill, red tips will ALL do the blue belt pattern. [This eliminates any bias against recently graded competitors.]

Each event will be divided into 4 divisions (novice, intermediate, advanced and black belt) except for the falling where there is no novice division. These divisions are further broken down into male and female and by age. Further separation by weight etc will be based on entries received.
