Dear Members

The ABS AGM was successfully held Saturday 26 October with a number of new members present and an enjoyable time for all.  The draft minutes are attached here: AGM 2024 Minutes  If you were present and your attendance is not captured in the minutes, please let me know as it was challenging to identify everyone.

It was great to see some new faces and aircraft to our group, including 2 members who flew in from a nearby station.  Some flew in for the weekend and for others it was a stop as part of a longer trip.  More details to follow in our next newsletter. Your new Committee is David Porter (Pres), Jock Folan (Vice), Nick Lindsay (Treas), James Cherry (Sec), Murray Gerraty, Brian DuRieu, Janine Turner and Anthony Turner.

Prior to the AGM, we were given a tour of the RFDS facilities by 2 senior pilots “behind the scenes” as their visitor centre is currently closed for renovation.  This was fascinating for pilots and non-pilots alike, and finished with the presentation of a donation cheque from those present.

The President’s medal was awarded at the AGM to Bruce Baade.  At the following dinner, there was also a presentation of Life Membership to Gail Kerr.
