Please arrive at 7.15am for 7.30am roll-out from the Darradup Volunteer Bushfire Brigade Shed on Johnston Rd, Jalbarragup.

The community are holding a morning tea, and if we are back in time there will be coffee & cake for $5. Please bring cash.

The ride will be in remote country, so be prepared. Bring:

  • mobile with Telstra network coverage or a satellite communications device (e.g. Garmin Inreach)
  • route loaded to bike computer/phone (before arriving - terrible network coverage around Nannup)
  • sufficient hydration & nutrition for the ride (3-4 hours) - forecast is warm
  • sunscreen & chamois cream
  • all spares
  • appropriate clothing for predicted weather
  • any medications you may require
  • cash for coffee & cake & drinks

All riders must wear an Australian Standards Approved (or international equivalent) helmet.

Bikes should be suitable for off-road terrain (e.g. mountain bike or gravel bike fitted with knobbly tyres) and have working brakes. If you need to hire a bike please contact Three Tanks Cycling in Nannup in advance.

SAFETY

It is recommended that you load these apps to your phone - they both work without network coverage.

  • St John First Responder App - to assist with emergency service response
  • Experience Nannup App - provides accurate map positioning in case you find yourself off-course (better than Google Maps or Strava). Select Mountain & Road Biking and toggle on Locate to find your position.
